Susan Comstock was born in San Francisco, California and holds a degree in music from the State University of New York. Her vocal and violin styles cover a broad range of musical idioms, including classical, jazz, sacred, Irish, blues, Latin, and Balkan.
A classic song and dance style entertainer, Susan is an accomplished dancer in these related musical genres as well, and sings in four languages. These talents surely came in handy with her stint delivering live singing telegrams in Canada. She also spent six years as a music teacher within the California public school system.
Whether she is finessing a jazz ballad or belting out a blues standard, Susan is a solid sender who always connects on a visceral level with herself, her band, and the audience in a dynamic way.
She has also sung with the San Francisco and Oakland Symphony Choruses, performed in cabaret and coffee houses in Greenwich Village, NYC, sung pop music with Robert Goulet and Henry Mancini, performed in musical theater in Canada, and was a member of the Balkan band Zemya.
